Resonating through Radio: Voter Education in the Sierra Leone 2018 Elections
In preparation for the Sierra Leone elections on March 7, 2018, IFES launched the USAID-funded Sierra Leone Election Dialogue Series Project and worked closely with the National Electoral Commission to develop and disseminate a series of voter education radio ads.

Regional Director on “The Elections We Want” in Africa
As part of its annual report, the Wilson Center Africa Program asked IFES Regional Director for Africa Rushdi Nackerdien to contribute an essay on recent African elections. His piece, “The Elections We Want,” covered 2017 elections in Angola, Rwanda, Liberia, Senegal, the Gambia, and Kenya, and their implications for election practitioners moving forward.

Sierra Leone Votes in National Elections
Presidential and Parliamentary Elections were held in Sierra Leone on August 11, 2007. National and International Election Observers were present to monitor the vote for free and fair results. Despite bad weather, citizens arrived early, and eagerly voted within the regulated precincts.

Todos tenemos un sueno
“We all Have a Dream” is a Christmas card, available in Spanish, sent out in 1999 by Ricardo Lagos, the candidate for the 2000 Presidential election in Chile, and his wife, Luisa Duran, in lead up to the 2000 Presidential Election in Chile. The card talks about the dreams every Chilean citizen has, such as free people, equality and a Great Chile.

Sierra Leone Pre-Election Assessment, November 1995
This Pre-Election Assessment from Sierra Leone focused on two issues: computer and information management needs of the Commission, and the overall status of INEC preparations to hold elections on February 26, 1996. “Observation of the Chilean Democratic System: Presidential and Parliamentary Elections for 1993” is a registration form for willing participants to take part in the Chilean election’s observation process, available in both English and Spanish, issued in 1993 by the PARTICIPA Corporation, Chile, in lead up to the December 11, 1993 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections in Chile. The document provides the description of the activities participants would be involved with, as well as the program itinerary and the description of what is included in the total price.

La Democracia es responsabilidad de todos
“Democracy is Everyone’s Responsibility” is a Civic Education Booklet, available in Spanish, issued in 1992 by PARTICIPA, Chile. The booklet describes democracy and informs citizens of how they may participate in building a democratic society. By teaching the values of democracy to the readers and its importance, the booklet is meant to serve as an incentive for people to participate in creating a democratic Chile. The guide includes a list of the required conducts in a democracy.

La Democracia tambian se construye en la comuna
“Democracy Can Also be Built in the Commune” is an Info-discussion guide, available in Spanish, issued in 1992, by PARTICIPA, Chile, in lead up to the June 28, 1992 Municipal Election in Chile. The guide provides a thorough description of the local administration in Chile, its election process and the role of the local authorities in the political life of Chile. The guide is meant to familiarize the Chilean citizens with the new reforms introduced by the political and social sectors in the municipal structure in order to bring the democratic process to the communal level as well. The guide refers to the functions of the municipalities, how they are elected and the attributions of the mayor and the regional councils. Additionally, the guide contains voting instructions and samples of election ballots, as well as an Election Calendar with the most important dates in the 1992 elections.
